Strong Kids Info   |   Strong Kids 2007 Supporters

 Family by family...
We pass on programs that nurture supportive, resilient and lasting relationships. No matter how we describe family, the strength of the relationships between adults and children will define our society in the years to come. Families rely on affordable YMCA programs. Thanks to donors and volunteers like you, last year your YMCA:

  • made it possible for 207 families dealing with stressful life changes and in need of assistance to be part of the YMCA

  • provided Kids/Parents Night Out, Outdoor Movie Night, Lights on After School Program, Halloween at the Y, and Pizza with Santa and other special family programs for more than 2,500 families
 Child by child...
We pass on opportunities. Every day, the YMCA helps young people feel good. The YMCA provides a safe, caring, positive environment where they can test their independence and develop the self-esteem needed to make the right choices. Your contribution will help:

  • provide more than 1,700 young people with summer day camp, programs in swimming, tennis, basketball, indoor soccer, Leaders Club as well as Youth & Government and other programs that build physical and leadership skills

  • Involve 1,760 more kids as members so they can have fun in physical activities like Open Swim, Tumbling, Karate, and Basketball.

 Life by life...
Kids need to be part of a caring, sharing family, no matter what shape that family takes. Parents rely on the YMCA for high quality child care and the many other programs that strengthen the whole family. For some, the Monroe Family YMCA is family. Be someone's hero today! With your contribution, in 2007 your YMCA will:

  • Provide programs like After School Recreation where children can get help with homework, play sports, and stay safe after school.
  • Help more than 500 families grow together in activities such as Friday Family Nights, Parent/Child Swim Lessons, and holiday celebrations.

Here's How You can Help!

You can make a pledge payable over one year or make a single payment by cash, check, or transfer from your financial institution, or by Visa, Mastercard, American Express credit card. You decide the payment schedule and amount. The YMCA will do the rest and you will receive a letter for charitable gift tax purposes. Many corporations and other employers match employee gifts. Please ask your employer and submit the form to the YMCA campaign office.

Questions? Please call 734-241-2606 and ask for Executive Director, Hwa Stacy, or e-mail her at hwastacy@ymcaofmonroe.org to learn more about volunteer opportunities, and discover other ways you can contribute.
